So I have really been struggling with finding my true place in life. I have been trying to figure out if it really matters where you are in the world, if you are truly living your life for Christ. And what exactly is the right way to live your life? How do you be a true missionary no matter where you live? Well I spent a few days praying about it and reading the Word and this is what God has showed me. "If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after the orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:26-27. Those two verses really spoke to me, God has showed me so much since I have been here and now I know this is how I want to live my life. I want to help people when they are in need, the homeless, widows and orphans, there are many, many more as well. I am very excited about this! Also I have started a whole lot of new things. I have been visiting an orphanage every monday, visiting/helping a school that helps the elderly learn to read and write and exersize and all kinds of things, I also will be teaching them English starting next week. On Thursdays I am looking for a way to minister to battered women or do some form of ministry for women here in Cancun. On Fridays I am looking for some homeless people that I can bring food to or blankets and on Saturdays I am doing childrens ministry with a local pastor. I am so excited that everything is working out, God has opened so many new doors! I was able to do all of these new things last week and then we had a group come from the States, so I had to stop everything for this week. However everything will be back to normal next week!
Again thank you all for all your prayers and support.
I love you all very much, God bless

Serving God

These are the Canadians Breakfast: beans, steak, mayo

Serving, having a servants heart, being humble, these are all very good qualitys. However, they are not easy to come by. This week at bible study we talked about Matthew 5 and Luke 6, two very, very good chapters in the bible. They talk about being humble and serving others. "God blesses those who are gentle and lowley for the whole earth will belong to them. God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will recieve it in full....Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great award awaits you in heaven. And remember the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way." (Matthew 5:5-6 & 12)

I have had to have patients for and with those around me as well as serve them. I am here to learn, that is what life is about, learning and serving God and others. First service to God and then to others. When someone asks you to go one mile with him go two. (paraphrased Matt 5) So I will continue to serve God and others by waiting and doing what they need of me.

I took a trip to the jungle this past weekend with some Canadian friends of mine. We went about 4 hours west of Cancun to a mission in Tinum. The mission used to be a bar until the bar tender got saved and then was tortured by the villiagers, nearly died and then left the town only to return a few years later to rebuild the bar into a mission. The owner of the mission is now 80 plus years old; he still works by traveling to Cancun working as a gardiner for five days a week and then spends the weekend in Tinum (4hours away). this man puts all his money into the mission and providing for others.

We spent our time there visiting homes of new Christians. We prayed for and with the people, and shared some more of the gospel as most of these people do not know how ot read. Almost every family would feed us and give so much even though they had very little for themselves. We also did a little medical work as one of the missionarys traveling with us had some medical training. Mariana is a very sweet lady (She is the missionary) she works two jobs and puts all here money into serving others and helping wherever she can. Mariana is a missionary from Mexico. Over all it was a great experiance, it was nice to see a different side to ministering other then just showing movies. The Canadians visit with all the same familys every two weeks. Thank you for all your prayers!
